Bawlis at HanumanTal, Jabalpur

Bawlis at HanumanTal, Jabalpur

The surroundings of Hanuman Tal, Jabalpur is very attractive with multiple points of views viz. Jain temples and numbers of Hindu temples, prosperous buildings with architectural importance of the families of Late Seth Girdharilal Malpadi.(a reliable person of British rule) and the most attractive religious place is Krishna temple of Malpadi family where the discipline and punctuality of timings of of Puja is remarkable. In this temple the Puja starts when the present senior member of age about eighty years of the Malpadi Pariwar Seth Balkrishna Malpadi comes at 8’o clock, and he is very punctual. One of the Ghat of Hanuman Tal was built by Byohar family {belongs to family of Wazir (Byohar) of Gond Rulers}. One of the famous and oldest temple of this place is KHER MAI Mandir.

In the campus of Kher Mai mandir there were two Bawdis. One the two has been closed and some constructions viz.toilets etc have been made.

The other Bawdi has been covered with iron rods but it is not in use as there is no provision has been kept to clean it..in other words it is a neglected place being in the campus of a religious place.

Another Bawdi is about a distance of two hundred meters from the Kher Mai Mandir towards the Hanuman Tal and its name is  Khud Khud Ki Bawdi.

The story of this Bawdi  is also the same. People are renovating for their name and they feel their job is over whether it is repaired either by private body or by Govt.
