Narila Talab of white lotus the most beautiful
huge pond spread in many acres of land in Majholi Taheseel , Pola village road
of District Jabalpur. This place is about 40 kms from Jabalpur.
The locals and
mafias are destroying the pond and its beautiful natural surroundings by
manufacturing the bricks by installing Bhatas ( brick ovens) digging mud
consuming excess of water for it and cutting wood of the forest surrounding the
near by area of the pond for the Bhatas and other purposes. I came to know from
the local people of this place that the forest belong to Department of Forest.
What are the limitations with the Department of Forest that it is not becoming able to
check the deforestation . This whole belt of Forest on the Pathar (Platue )
and hills from Indrana Taheseel to Bahurivan ,District Katni is almost naked
and the most important factor is the installation of these Bhattas in the forest
/ or near the forest areas and so the locals are also cutting wood for
commercial use along with their need for fuel as well.
Few locals and the Sarpanch
of Simaria village of Majholi took me to pluck the Chiroungi (Char) fruit { its
seeds are used as dry fruit and the market value of it is Rs.1200/- per Kg.} as I ever seen and
tasted its fruit earlier. Luckily few trees of this fruits are still surviving
otherwise the forest has become thin and poor. I surprise why is the forest
department is so indifferent or they have lack of manpower like Archeological
Survey of India or lack of integrity. Only God may know better.
It is my suggestion
that a Coucil should be formed of all the three government bodies { at
state/center level} of Archeology, Forest and Tourism for taking decision and
planning for the development of heritages.
